THE TEA FARM

Traditional Japanese blend

Genmaicha is made in Japan from two ingredients: green tea (usually Bancha) and roasted rice.
The tea is steamed, rolled and dried – like classic Japanese green tea.
The rice is roasted separately, which creates the characteristic aromas of popcorn, toast and nuts.
Only then are the two components carefully blended. The right ratio is crucial: enough tea for freshness, enough rice for depth and sweetness.

TEA FARM

Classic blending partners in Japan – with a focus on balanced rice tea blends for clear, mild cups.

TERROIR

Selected green teas from Japan, mostly Bancha from smaller producers – complemented with gently roasted rice.

ORIGIN

Genmaicha literally means "brown rice tea". Despite the name, white rice is usually used – the roasting process is crucial, as it carries the flavor.

The tea

Genmaicha

Genmaicha combines two worlds: the clear freshness of Japanese green tea and the warmth of roasted rice.
This makes it mild and approachable – with little caffeine, but lots of character.
A tea for any time of day, for quiet breaks or as a light accompaniment to a meal.
Natural, unflavored – and more versatile than almost any other.

PREPARATION

Pour 2.5g per 200ml of water at 90°C-100°C .
3 infusions : 30-60 seconds

CAFFEINE CONTENT

Mild (typical of bancha) | because bancha contains little caffeine and the rice content "dilutes" it. Ideal for more sensitive drinkers or as a daytime beverage. Usually also easy to drink in the late afternoon.

CUP COLOR

Light yellow with a slight greenish tint – clear, calm, soft in tone.
