Green tea

Palace Needle

Palace Needle is a delicate, steamed spring green tea from Hubei, crafted from fine shoots and young tips harvested in April. Steaming preserves the bright green, clear, and precise aroma; subsequent drying at moderate temperatures retains the color, sweetness, and clean finish. Light, silky, and exceptionally pure.

AROMA & CHARACTER

A delicate spring aroma with white blossom and bright citrus freshness. On the palate, soft, silky, and mildly sweet, supported by gentle grassiness. The finish remains clear, cool, and pure, with a fine, natural sweetness. Hardly any bitterness at 75–80 °C; the wine appears "green" in the cup, but not harsh.

THE TEA FARM

Tea needles from Hubei

The tea originates from the mountainous regions of Hubei. In mid-April, the buds and young shoots are hand-picked and immediately steamed to prevent oxidation. Afterwards, they are dried at moderate temperatures, sifted, and sorted – a multi-stage process that preserves the vibrant leaf color and the delicate, fresh aroma.

The characteristic needle shape is achieved through precise sorting and shaping of the delicate leaf tips. The result is a very clear, calm green tea that opens slowly and yields several balanced cups.

TEA FARM

Selected from batches where steaming and drying are carried out meticulously to preserve freshness.

TERROIR

Mountain locations and mineral soils support clarity, subtle sweetness and a cool finish.

ORIGIN

A rarely steamed style of Chinese green tea that focuses more on purity and texture than on roasted notes.

The tea

Palace Needle

Palace Needle is a tea for controlling subtlety. Because the infusion is steamed, the cup is very direct: temperature makes the difference between "crystal clear" and "too green." At 75–80 °C, it remains soft and sweet, with that quiet, bright freshness that doesn't attract. If you make it hotter or steep it too long, more vegetal greens emerge—not necessarily bitter, but denser.

The needles open slowly. In the first few infusions, you'll get fragrance, freshness, and a hint of sweetness. After that, the flavor becomes rounder, slightly more mineral, and the aftertaste is cooler and purer. It works best if you pour completely and use short, precise strokes – this keeps the tea silky and clear.

PREPARATION

Pour 2.5g per 200ml of water at 75–80°C .
